Hong Kong, 3 August 2011 --- Wing Cheung Hing Knitters (WCH) today announced  that WCH has registered the WCH logo as a trademark with Trade Marks Registry – Intellectual Property Department of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The Intellectual Property Department of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was established on 2 July 1990.  The Department took over from the Registrar General's Department the responsibility for the registration of patents and trade marks for goods and for other related matters.  The Department also took over functions relating to copyright from the Attorney General's Department.  In 1998, the Department also became the Government's civil advisor on intellectual property legal matters. The Intellectual Property Department is to protect the intellectual property rights to the highest international standards, so that Hong Kong, China remains a place where creativity and talent can flourish.
